Editorial Standards
This page describes how TotalSportek verifies factual claims about sports broadcast rights, pricing and schedules before publication.
Sources we rely on
- The official rights-holder’s published schedule (Sky Sports, TNT Sports, Amazon Prime Video, BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, ESPN, ESPN+, NBC Peacock, Paramount+, CBS Sports, Apple TV, NBA League Pass, NFL+, NBA TV, NFL Network, TSN, Sportsnet, CBC Sports, DAZN Canada, Fubo Canada, OneSoccer, F1 TV Pro, RDS).
- The league’s own published schedule (Premier League, UEFA, FA, EFL, NBA, NFL, UFC, Formula 1).
- Public press releases from the broadcasters and the leagues at the start of each rights cycle.
- Cross-checks against secondary editorial sources where the primary record is ambiguous.
We do not rely on aggregator sites, on social-media posts, on tipster accounts, or on any source that does not have a direct rights or league relationship.
Verification process
Every page that names a broadcaster or quotes a price goes through a four-step verification on the day of publication:
- The claim is checked against the broadcaster’s current website.
- The claim is checked against the league’s published rights table for the current cycle.
- Pricing is checked against the broadcaster’s customer-facing checkout page.
- The page is dated to the day of verification.
If a claim cannot be verified through steps one and two, the claim is removed.
Updates and corrections
Pages are updated when a rights cycle changes, when a broadcaster’s pricing changes, or when a corrections notice is filed. Corrections appear at the bottom of the affected page with a note explaining what changed and when. Material errors are corrected within 24 hours of being notified.
